about Emily
“Don’t go through life, grow through life.”
- Eric Butterworth

Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially when you’re facing ongoing conflict, emotional distance, or uncertainty about the future of your relationship. When conversations keep going in circles, it can be hard to know what the right next step is.
I work with individuals and couples navigating high-conflict dynamics, recurring relational patterns, and periods of uncertainty or transition.
Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward; often carrying the weight of unresolved experiences, family dynamics, or long-standing tension.
I take an authentic, direct, and sincere person-centered approach to therapy, creating space to slow the process down and sit with what’s present, both individually or together.
Through this work, we focus on building emotional tolerance, understanding relational patterns, and finding more stable, attainable ways to move through difficult decisions.
My aim is to offer a safe, grounded, and empowering environment where individuals and couples can gain clarity, reduce reactivity, and move forward with greater intention. Whatever that next chapter may look like.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy, just a willingness to begin.
If you’re ready to explore support, I invite you to reach out. Let’s talk about how therapy may help you move forward with clarity and care.
Emily is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), supervised by Micaela Gonzalez, LCSW-S. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Texas Tech University and her Master’s degree in Social Work, with a concentration in mental health and substance misuse, from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Emily’s background includes several years of work in community mental health and nonprofit settings in Austin, where she supported individuals, couples, and families navigating complex systems, ongoing stress, and significant relational challenges. Her experience in both case management and clinical roles informs a thoughtful, pragmatic approach to therapy that considers emotional experience alongside real-world constraints.
In her work, Emily helps clients examine what is happening beneath the surface, identify options, and make intentional choices during periods of uncertainty or conflict. She works with teens, adults, couples, and families, and is especially attuned to situations where people feel pulled in different directions or unsure how to move forward.
Emily’s goal is to offer a steady therapeutic presence where clients can explore difficult questions, feel respected in their process, and gain confidence in the decisions they make both individually and within their relationships.
