About Us

Why choose Observant Mind

It's time to shift out of survival mode

I created Observant Mind because I know how overwhelming and exhausting it can feel to keep repeating the same painful patterns. Left longing for connection and peace, yet feeling stuck in survival mode.

You don’t have to stay there.

Observant Mind is a place where healing goes beyond surface-level fixes. Our work helps you untangle the impact of complex trauma (especially early relational trauma) by addressing the whole person -Mind, Body, and Soul.

Healing isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey. That’s why we take a collaborative, integrative approach weaving together evidence-based therapy, holistic practices, and soul-level wisdom. Because true healing happens when every part of you is seen, supported, and invited back into balance.

STILL NOT SURE?

Frequently Asked Questions

How often do I need to go to therapy?

The frequency of therapy depends on your unique needs and goals. With that said, the most common approach is to start with weekly sessions and then taper as you make meaningful shifts.

How does Out-of-Network insurance billing work?

We are an out-of-network provider, which means we don’t bill insurance directly. However, many clients are still able to use their benefits to receive partial reimbursement for sessions. To make this easier:

We verify your out-of-network benefits so you know what your plan will cover before getting started.

We submit superbills on your behalf so you don’t have to deal with the extra paperwork.

You pay for sessions up front, and if your plan offers out-of-network coverage, your insurance company will send reimbursement directly to you.

This allows you to use your benefits while avoiding the hassle of navigating the process alone

What questions should I ask a therapist during a consultation call to find the right fit?

When you schedule a consultation call with a therapist, it’s your chance to make sure their style, expertise, and approach match your needs. Here are a few key questions to ask and why they matter:

What is your approach to therapy?
This helps you understand their style (evidence-based, holistic, trauma-informed, etc.) and whether it matches what you’re looking for.

Do you have experience with my specific concerns?
Every therapist has strengths. Asking this helps you find someone familiar with issues like anxiety, trauma, relationship struggles, or people-pleasing.

What can I expect in our sessions?
Knowing the structure and pace of therapy helps reduce uncertainty and makes the process feel more approachable.

How do you measure progress?
This shows you how the therapist tracks growth and gives you a sense of what “moving forward” might look like.

What do the first few sessions usually look like?
Understanding the early process helps you feel grounded from the start, instead of walking in blind.

A great therapist will not only answer these questions but also help you feel seen, safe, and understood during the conversation. The consultation call is less about having the “perfect questions” and more about noticing how you feel while talking with them.

What should I look for in a therapist to know they’re the right fit?

The right therapist isn’t just about credentials or therapy modalities. IT'S ABOUT CONNECTION.
Look for someone who makes you feel safe, understood, and respected. Choose the person you would say yes to going grab coffee with, because you will be spending a lot of time together.

At the end of the day, TRUST YOUR GUT! The “fit” matters more than the resume.

How do I know if therapy is working for me?

It’s normal to wonder if therapy is actually “working.” In fact, sometimes progress feels messy. You might notice old emotions bubbling up or even feel worse before you feel better. That doesn’t mean therapy isn’t working; it usually means you’re finally addressing things you’ve been carrying for a long time.

Signs therapy is working include: feeling more aware of your patterns, noticing small shifts in how you respond, and building tools that help you regulate instead of staying stuck in survival mode. Growth isn’t always linear, but over time you’ll start to feel more grounded, connected, and confident in yourself and your relationships..
